The record she wrote reveals a seaman, Richard W. Carson, who served the entire Pacific Theater War from the first attack on Pearl Harbor to the surrender in Tokyo Bay. 

His only comment while on leave, June 1st, 1944, reported in
The Bergen Evening Record on his experience during the attack on
Pearl Harbor and the Battle of Midway Islands was,
“It was pretty awful.”

          Richard W. Carson’s service was the entire Pacific Naval War. Volumes of books are written on the challenges he endured.  With the information above, we merely want to give you some general understanding of the experiences he went through. 

Let us never forget his sacrifice.
